Owners Michael & Monica Gehlhausen founded M&M Exhaust Systems, Inc., at the station at the “Y” in Jasper in 1983. After realizing the demand for exhaust services in the local community, they expanded & constructed a new shop near downtown Jasper in 1989.

After 33 years of dedication to M&M Exhaust, sadly, Michael passed away in 2016. His legacy lives on through his son, Matthew, & the same quality craftsmanship is on display through his work. Michael would be so proud to see the dream live on that he & Monica had to bring this automotive repair shop to life. Their daughter, Leslie, grew up in the business, too, and currently works as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.

In 2016, Matthew, took over management. He is the Lead Mechanic and is involved in all exhaust, brake, & suspension work. He’d tell you that custom work on the classics is his favorite. He’d also be the first to tell you that he learned from the best & will always strive to place priority on quality.

Matthew’s wife, Allison, joined the team in 2017 as Customer Service, and their son, Oliver, tags along every day. He loves seeing our customers! He’s the official manager of our toy car collection & ensures your little ones leave with a special prize!

And we can’t forget to mention our 3 shop dogs, Cruiser, Cozy, & Shadow. Their only job is to bring a smile to your face & they are paid in treats!
